Privacy
What we keep, and why.
This page explains the data Stonegrove stores when you visit the website, register an account, or play on the server.
Who we are
Stonegrove is an independent community project. For privacy questions or requests, use the privacy address on the contact page. We are the controller for the data described here.
Website and server logs
The web server records the request time, requested path, response status, user agent, and connecting IP address. These logs exist to keep the service available and secure, and are retained for 30 days. We do not run advertising trackers or third-party analytics on this site.
Account and community data
If you register, we store your username, a password hash, your chosen language, session records, and the notes you publish. We do not ask for an email address. Account data is kept until you delete the account or ask us to remove it; moderation records may be retained longer where needed to enforce the rules.
Cookies and local storage
The community service uses a strictly necessary session cookie to keep you signed in. The language toggle stores your choice in your browser's local storage. We do not use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies.
Minecraft server records
The game server records usernames, UUIDs, connecting IP addresses, chat and command logs, and moderation actions. These records are used for access control, safety, and dispute review. Chat and command logs are retained for 90 days; bans and moderation notes may be retained while the restriction is active and for a reasonable appeal period afterwards.
Why we process it
We process this data to operate the community, keep the service secure, enforce the rules, and respond to requests. Where the GDPR applies, the legal bases are our legitimate interests in running a safe community, performance of the agreement with members, and consent where we ask for it.
Sharing and transfers
We use hosting, backup, and infrastructure providers to run the service. They process data on our instructions. We do not sell personal data or share it for advertising. Data may be processed outside your country where our providers operate; we use appropriate safeguards where required.
Your rights
Subject to applicable law, you can request access, correction, deletion, restriction, portability, or object to processing. You can also withdraw consent at any time. Use the privacy address on the contact page; we may ask for enough information to verify the request. You can complain to your local data protection authority.
Retention and security
We keep data only as long as needed for the purposes above. Passwords are stored as hashes, access is limited to stewards who need it, and backups are protected. No service is perfectly secure; report a suspected issue through the contact page.
Children
Stonegrove is not directed at children under 13. If you are below the age required in your country to consent to online services, ask a parent or guardian before registering.
